15 Days in Italy & France — Couple's First-Time Grand Tour
Rome to Paris via Florence, Tuscany, Lake Como, and Venice — a classic first-timer route with enough breathing room to actually enjoy it. October is ideal: crowds thin, prices drop, and the light is stunning. This preview covers the first 7 days of a 15-day trip — claim it to build the full itinerary with Voyaige.

Before You Go
Book Vatican Museums and Colosseum skip-the-line tickets at least 2–3 weeks ahead; both sell out.
Reserve the Accademia in Florence and Uffizi online — October is still busy and queues are long.
Book Villa Balbianello on Lake Como via the FAI website; access is timed and limited.
Buy Trenitalia high-speed rail tickets (Rome–Florence, Florence–Milan, Milan–Venice) at least 2 weeks out for best prices.
Check Notre-Dame reopening status before arrival; exterior is free but interior access may be ticketed or limited.
Good to Know
This itinerary is not too packed — 15 days for 6 destinations is actually a reasonable pace for a couple who wants to enjoy rather than sprint.
Skipping the Amalfi Coast is a smart call for a first visit; it requires 2+ days minimum and the October roads are narrow and can be congested.
Skipping Cinque Terre is not a significant miss if you're already doing Lake Como — both give you dramatic coastal or lakeside scenery; Como is more accessible and less crowded.
Rome, Florence, and Venice are the unmissable first-timer anchors in Italy; everything else is a bonus.
October in Italy means fewer tourists and better light, but book accommodations early — agriturismo and small hotels fill up with the shoulder-season crowd.
In Venice, eat where there are no photos on the menus and no one outside trying to pull you in — that rule eliminates 80% of tourist traps instantly.
Paris feels logistically out of place on this route, but it earns its spot — three days is exactly the right amount for a first-timer without feeling rushed.
